The GLCU Foundation for Financial Empowerment believes in empowering our communities, members, and employees through education. That’s why each spring we award eight $2,500 scholarships to students attending or bound for college in the coming fall.
It’s easy to apply, and there’s no essay required. Simply submit a half-page application, a letter of recommendation, and a video of yourself answering three questions.
The application window for 2026 applicants is March 2, 2026 through April 30, 2026. Thank you and good luck to all our applicants! Scholarships will be awarded during a ceremony in late May. We’ll contact each award recipient with details.
Eligibility:
Must be planning to attend or currently attending an accredited post-secondary institution or vocational/trade school in the fall semester
Must have a minimum of a 2.50 cumulative GPA on a 4.00 scale
Must be a Great Lakes Credit Union member or open an account with a deposit of at least $1
Award Criteria:
Scholarship recipients are chosen through a process that evaluates the following areas: video answers, reference letter, academic success, community/school involvement, and work history.
